Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production applications.
- Strong proficiency in PHP and/or Java.
- Deep understanding of software fundamentals, including maintainable architecture and automated testing.
- Proficiency in API design, relational data modeling, and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar messaging/streaming systems.
- Experience with REST and gRPC service integrations.
- Operational experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and CI/CD.
- Track record of navigating ambiguity and making pragmatic technical trade-offs.
- Experience using AI coding agents in a production environment.
- Business-level English fluency with strong written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate customer-facing backend services using PHP and Java.
- Develop reliable APIs, data models, integrations, and event-driven services.
- Own end-to-end changes across application code, infrastructure, and deployment configurations.
- Improve system scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Manage observability, automated testing, release quality, and production incident response.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Infrastructure, and Security teams.
- Utilize AI coding agents like Claude Code in the development workflow.
