Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years related work experience in excess of degree requirements.
  • Expert user of power system software applications and tools.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and database programs.
  • Experience with EMS and OTS applications (e.g., State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, Dispatcher Load Flow).
  • Understanding of principles, theories and concepts related to energy management systems.
  • Ability to work independently on complex application issues.
  • Ability to collaborate with database administrators and infrastructure teams.
  • Familiarity with non-functional requirement testing for system changes.
  • Strong communication skills for representing the team at interdepartmental and stakeholder meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the proactive enhancements, improvements and issue remediation for OTS and Real Time Power System Applications.
  • Coordinate application set up and testing with Market Participants.
  • Perform model load testing in Energy and Market Management System and update model data.
  • Design and test Energy and Market Management System interfaces and web/client-server application changes.
  • Verify and support applications during system failovers and server/database upgrades.
  • Support the execution of EMS Disaster Recovery Drills and business continuity procedures.
  • Serve as a technical Subject Matter Expert and consultant for projects affecting EMS and OTS environments.
