Requirements

  • Five years of healthcare revenue cycle experience, including at least two years in Revenue Integrity.
  • Prior experience with Charge Description Master (CDM) or charge capture.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare industry laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, hospital charge masters, charge review, and coding methodologies.
  • Prior experience leading and managing complex projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent related experience in lieu of degree).
  • Must be HIPAA compliant.
  • Working knowledge of the English language (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Preferred certifications include RHIT, RHIA, CPC/CPC-H, CCS/CCS-P, CHRI, CRCR, or CRCP.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and develop Revenue Integrity team members to ensure effective revenue cycle operations.
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of the Charge Description Master (CDM) to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Implement strategies to improve charge capture and prevent revenue leakage.
  • Develop organizational policies and procedures regarding pricing, CDM audits, and charge reconciliation.
  • Lead the RAC Denials team to track and monitor coding-related denials in partnership with Patient Financial Services.
  • Analyze financial and clinical data to identify revenue improvement opportunities, performance trends, and risks.
  • Collaborate with finance, billing, and compliance departments to ensure organizational alignment.
  • Provide education to departments regarding charges and charging practices in electronic medical record systems.
