Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and work experience.
- 3+ years of relevant underwriting or lending experience.
- Strong business acumen.
- Customer-focused mindset.
- Proven ability to collaborate within a team environment.
- Effective communication skills.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills.
- Ability to analyze financial statement spreads and understand cash flows.
- Knowledge of credit policies and minimum underwriting standards.
- Ability to conduct initial interviews and due diligence with prospects.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite the entire spectrum of lending products in a timely and efficient manner.
- Apply credit policies and minimum underwriting standards.
- Collaborate with Business Development Officers to provide a consultative credit perspective.
- Review and analyze new deal packages, including financial statement spreads and cash flows.
- Order and review due diligence and documentation.
- Visit prospect locations and meet with management for transactions over a predetermined amount.
- Prepare the credit narrative for approval.
- Conduct and document the pre-funding process and oversee assigned Client Analysts.
- Oversee the closing documentation process and negotiate with prospects.
- Mentor and train analysts, field examiners, and less experienced business development representatives.
