Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in commercial lending, credit underwriting, financial analysis, or a related field.
  • Strong ability to analyze financial statements, cash flows, collateral, credit information, and business performance.
  • Working knowledge of credit policies, underwriting standards, due diligence, loan documentation, and pre-funding processes.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand borrower business models and asset conversion cycles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated customer focus and ability to provide consultative, value-added guidance.
  • Effective negotiation skills for transaction requirements and closing documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions efficiently with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Leadership mindset with the ability to mentor and develop junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite a broad spectrum of lending products applying established credit policies and standards.
  • Review new deal packages for accuracy and credit quality, conducting initial interviews.
  • Interpret financial and business due diligence including statements, cash flows, and collateral.
  • Develop thorough understandings of prospect business models and associated credit risks.
  • Collaborate with Business Development Officers to provide consultative credit guidance.
  • Prepare comprehensive credit narratives documenting risks, mitigants, and underwriting conclusions.
  • Coordinate closing documentation and facilitate the booking of new loans.
  • Mentor and train analysts and less experienced professional team members.
