Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in construction materials testing, civil construction, inspection, or related field.
- Hands-on experience with soil and compaction testing.
- Experience operating portable nuclear moisture/density gauges.
- Knowledge of ASTM and CSA testing standards.
- Experience supervising, training, or mentoring field staff.
- Experience working with clients, contractors, and project teams in a QA/QC environment.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and provide technical direction in the field.
- Valid driver's license.
- Willingness to travel up to 90% throughout Canada.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing 50+ lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Manage the field compaction testing program including certifications, calibrations, resource scheduling, and revenue forecasting.
- Supervise, train, mentor, and provide technical direction to field staff.
- Perform and oversee soil, aggregate, and compaction testing using nuclear densometers.
- Interpret project design drawings, specifications, and ASTM, CSA, municipal, and provincial standards.
- Identify and communicate quality issues and non-conforming work.
- Review field reports, test results, and daily documentation.
- Coordinate with laboratory operations to support CCIL quality requirements.
- Serve as Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) or alternate as needed.
- Support proposals, client relationships, and business development initiatives.
- Promote and maintain health and safety practices.
