Requirements
- 8+ years in software engineering with progressive leadership responsibility.
- Ownership experience of a full engineering or software product function.
- Experience leading software delivery to the US government with direct federal customer exposure.
- Command of modern AI practice including LLMs, agentic frameworks, RAG, and orchestration.
- Experience with AI governance, data handling, and model evaluation.
- Experience owning delivery economics including cost, staffing, and utilization against fixed commitments.
- Experience building and leading an engineering organization and defining operating models.
- Demonstrable experience managing executive-level customer and cross-functional relationships.
- Experience in defense, national security, or regulated environments with compliance/data constraints (preferred).
- Software capture experience including technical approach on federal proposals (preferred).
- Active security clearance (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and scale a software engineering organization accountable for delivery, quality, security, and reliability.
- Define an operating model transitioning the team from project-based execution to outcome-based ownership.
- Drive AI strategy across Nooks, including AI capabilities in products and integration into internal operations.
- Own delivery against awarded software contracts, managing scope, schedule, technical quality, and customer confidence.
- Represent engineering and AI capability directly to government customers in reviews and pursuits.
- Set the technology strategy and architecture roadmap for systems deployed into customer environments.
- Make build-versus-buy decisions and manage engineering headcount, tooling, and investment business cases.
