Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience leading, managing, or supervising operational teams.
  • Proven experience coaching employees through performance management and professional development.
  • Experience interviewing, selecting, and onboarding team members.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare payer operations and administrative workflows.
  • Familiarity with prior authorization operations is valuable.
  • Experience working with athenahealth and/or NextGen is preferred.
  • People-first leadership approach with the ability to maintain accountability.
  • Strong ownership mentality regarding team performance and quality outcomes.
  • Coaching-oriented communication style for capability development.
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency across a team.
  • Adaptability to move between manual workflows and AI-powered tools.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, manage, coach, and develop a team of 10–12 Partner Operations Associates and Senior Associates.
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and career development sessions.
  • Participate in hiring activities, including interviewing, candidate evaluation, and onboarding.
  • Partner with operational leads to improve team quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a limited personal caseload of approximately 25% of working time to stay familiar with operational workflows.
  • Monitor performance metrics, identify trends, and implement improvement actions.
  • Manage scheduling, attendance, and day-to-day employee support.
  • Address performance concerns directly and develop performance improvement plans.
  • Ensure consistent execution of operational standards and quality expectations.
  • Support change management and the adoption of new technologies and AI-powered tools.
