Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Public Health, Public Policy, Health Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- At least 5 years of experience in technical editing or communications for complex projects.
- Strong technical editing and writing abilities with capacity to simplify complex content.
- Ability to translate technical, regulatory, and policy concepts into clear language.
- Exceptional attention to detail regarding grammar, formatting, and content consistency.
- Familiarity with federal plain-language requirements and branding guidelines.
- Experience with stakeholder coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Strong organization and time-management skills to handle concurrent priorities.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform technical editing, copyediting, and proofreading of contract deliverables, including plans, SOPs, and reports.
- Apply federal Plain Language Guidelines and branding standards to all communication materials.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to resolve ambiguities and maintain technical accuracy.
- Review and refine slide decks and briefing documents for committees and leadership.
- Serve as the primary communications liaison between project teams and external stakeholders.
- Ensure materials comply with Section 508 accessibility requirements.
- Coordinate review processes and maintain project communication workflows.
