Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5–7 years of relevant professional experience, including managing professional billing functions.
- Experience within an academic medical center environment.
- 3–5 years of Epic experience is preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle operations, professional billing, and coding guidelines.
- Working knowledge of payer reimbursement methodologies and government regulations.
- Strong CPT coding knowledge and ability to interpret regulatory standards.
- Experience with revenue cycle auditing, training, and education.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational data.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with physicians and administrative leaders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Access.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the professional billing subject matter expert for assigned departments.
- Act as the primary liaison between professional billing operations, departments, and third-party vendors.
- Monitor service levels, KPIs, work queues, and productivity to identify operational challenges.
- Build and maintain relationships with department leaders, practice contacts, and physician leaders.
- Collaborate across departments to standardize processes and optimize patient account flows.
- Identify opportunities for process and system improvements.
- Lead the implementation of performance improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate recurring meetings with administrative and physician leaders to review metrics.
