Requirements
- 8+ years professional software development experience, with 3+ years in an architecture-focused role.
- Deep experience designing low-latency service architectures in AWS.
- Experience designing to explicit latency budgets (p95/p99) and synchronous durable commits.
- Experience designing audit/evidence systems (append-only event logs, bitemporal fact models).
- Experience designing fail-open/fail-closed/degraded-state semantics and outage postures.
- Proven experience architecting secure multi-tenant environments (RLS vs. schema-per-tenant vs. database-per-tenant).
- Deep experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB and Row-Level Security (RLS).
- Expertise in designing and building scalable RESTful APIs.
- Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
- Ability to overlap US business hours.
- Bachelor's degree required.
Responsibilities
- Design low-latency service architectures in AWS including queues, caches, and search projections.
- Architect audit and evidence systems using append-only logs and bitemporal fact models.
- Develop capacity models and cloud cost/performance projections based on the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- Establish technical standards, conduct architecture and code reviews, and mentor engineering teams.
- Produce architecture documentation, diagrams, and technical decision records (ADRs).
- Present and defend architecture decisions in client engineering and security reviews.
