Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in compensation analysis within financial, investment, or pension-fund industries.
  • 5+ years of experience working with Boards of Trustees or equivalent governing bodies.
  • 5+ years of experience in executive compensation and incentive strategy for large public-pension, governmental, or nonprofit organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to present compensation benchmarking at board or public meetings.
  • Deep understanding of public pension/retirement system governance.
  • Ability to maintain strict independence with no conflicts of interest.
  • Available for remote project-based consulting work.
  • Experience with board-ready reporting and presentations.
  • CCP, CEBS, WorldatWork, or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Previous experience with major firms like Mercer, Pearl Meyer, WTW, McLagan, or Aon preferred.
  • Texas or large pension-fund experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct annual total-compensation reviews for board direct reports including Executive Directors, CIOs, and Chief Audit Executives.
  • Design and assess performance-pay and incentive plans for high-level executives.
  • Perform target-market reviews and independent market studies using peer data from large AUM funds.
  • Prepare board-ready reports and executive compensation presentations.
  • Provide compensation philosophy advisory and governance briefings to Boards of Trustees.
  • Attend and present analyses at occasional on-site board meetings.
