- At least 3 years of experience in the functional area.
- Minimum of 6 years of management experience including hiring, training, and performance management.
- In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Expertise in NAIC Model Audit Rule (MAR) and regulatory compliance.
- Strong experience in financial reporting, financial analysis, and internal controls.
- Proven experience influencing senior management and stakeholders.
- Excellent project management skills for handling multiple complex projects.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a virtual, remote environment.
- Clean credit history as reported by a credit report.
Responsibilities
- Lead accounting, financial reporting, financial analysis, and related activities for assigned business entities.
- Oversee preparation and review of financial statements ensuring adherence to GAAP and the NAIC Model Audit Rule (MAR).
- Support strategic initiatives including acquisitions, joint ventures, and financial transformation projects.
- Monitor financial and control risks and manage interactions with internal and external auditors and regulators.
- Partner with cross-functional teams on financial forecasts, budgets, and strategic business plans.
- Implement improvements to financial policies, procedures, and reporting processes to drive operational quality.
- Lead, coach, and develop direct reports, including performance management, recruiting, and departmental budgeting.
