Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in reinsurance accounting, including implementation and reporting.
- Advanced Excel proficiency with experience in complex formulas and large datasets.
- Proven track record in a changing and complex financial reporting environment.
- Strong understanding of statutory accounting and financial reporting processes.
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP and Workiva (Wdesk) is a plus.
- Experience with healthcare or insurance organizations is preferred.
- Experience reviewing statutory filings is preferred.
- Exposure to AI tools for financial reconciliation and data automation is preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple demands independently while meeting strict deadlines.
- Ability to work additional hours during peak reporting periods.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory financial statements for submission to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and state regulatory authorities.
- Prepare supplemental statutory filings for state regulators, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Support state Department or Division of Insurance audits by preparing schedules and providing necessary documentation.
- Develop and test NetSuite and ad hoc reports for statutory financial reporting.
- Submit statutory filings using regulatory software to the NAIC and individual states.
- Lead and participate in ad hoc Statutory Reporting and Finance projects, including reinsurance accounting.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve reporting processes, data collection, and financial controls.
