Requirements
- Deep command of backend architecture, APIs, data systems, and performance tuning.
- Proficiency in modern backend languages and systems programming.
- Experience designing or evolving modular backend boundaries and migration-safe architectures.
- Proven experience building or operating agentic AI systems in production, including tool-use and error-handling strategies.
- Ability to lead through influence, technical judgment, and clear written communication.
- Experience with high-throughput distributed systems, concurrency, or profiling (helpful).
- Hands-on experience with containerized production operations like Kubernetes (helpful).
- Deep database performance knowledge, such as PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, or schema evolution (helpful).
- Background in large-scale modular monoliths or event-driven systems (helpful).
Responsibilities
- Design and ship moderate to complex backend features with minimal guidance, making pragmatic architectural choices.
- Advocate for product quality, security, availability, and performance by defining backend standards.
- Mentor associate and intermediate engineers and improve team delivery practices through reviews.
- Diagnose and prevent performance/reliability issues at scale, including incident response.
- Integrate agentic AI into production engineering workflows and coach others on its use.
