Requirements
- 2-3 years of previous experience in pre-auth verification
- Experience with Workers Compensation insurance in the therapy arena is preferred
- Experience with obtaining authorizations, referral coordination, and patient services is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft applications
- Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize needs to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and follow through on assignments
- Solution-oriented mindset with strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Customer service experience
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to self-motivate and maintain focus in a remote environment
- Available Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm EST
Responsibilities
- Submit authorization requests timely within EMR, following payer and state specific guidelines
- Specialize in Workers Compensation Financial Class and state-specific payer requirements
- Partner with front desk and scheduling teams to ensure accurate documentation for authorization submission
- Address and resolve authorization or verification related queries from internal teammates and WC Payers
- Manage and resolve authorization or verification related denials to minimize revenue loss
- Conduct insurance verifications via phone, fax, or online portals for walk-in or same-day patients
- Request and follow up on authorizations throughout the treatment episode
- Monitor EMR or BI reports to track benefits, missing authorizations, and other KPIs
- Assist with training and education for new and current A&V team members
