Requirements

  • At least 14 years of progressive experience in marketing, strategic communications, media relations, or public affairs.
  • At least 7 years in a leadership role managing and developing a communications team.
  • At least 5 years in a marketing leadership role, independently responsible for a large brand.
  • Demonstrated experience building or evolving communications systems, processes, and team structures.
  • Track record of translating complex, technical, or research-based content into compelling narratives.
  • Experience owning departmental budgets, workforce planning, and vendor portfolios.
  • Experience with national/international media strategy and crisis communications.
  • Experience advising executive leadership or serving in an executive advisory capacity.
  • Working knowledge of AI tools for strategic communications with sound ethical judgment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Public Policy, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute integrated marketing and communications campaigns aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Steward parent and sub-brand identities, ensuring consistent voice and visual standards.
  • Lead content and digital audience strategy while building robust analytics and reporting capabilities.
  • Partner with Development and Research teams to support revenue growth and programmatic integration.
  • Design and maintain organizational communication systems, workflows, and quality standards.
  • Provide executive-level communication advisory and lead media relations strategy.
  • Direct team culture, budget, workforce planning, and vendor portfolios.
  • Write, edit, and produce campaign materials in a hands-on, player-coach capacity.
