Requirements
- 4+ years in applied machine learning, quantitative modeling, or ML engineering.
- Experience pre-training or substantially adapting at least one foundation model for real-world traffic.
- Hands-on experience with self-supervised pre-training, fine-tuning, and adaptation.
- Production experience with model serving, versioning, monitoring, and rollback.
- Strong Python and SQL skills with experience preparing very large datasets.
- Ability to drive ambiguous applied research projects independently.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with data science, engineering, product, and external partners.
Responsibilities
- Identify and scope opportunities, design rigorous experiments, and execute on the roadmap for foundation model research and development.
- Own the evaluation bar for foundation model performance including offline benchmarks, calibration, and drift monitoring.
- Manage the full model lifecycle from data prep and tokenization to pretraining, fine-tuning, and deployment behind real-time inference paths.
- Partner with Engineering on training infrastructure, GPU efficiency, feature/embedding stores, and serving at production scale.
- Work directly with client-facing teams and customers to translate model capabilities into actionable risk decisions.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, and customer risk teams to build explainability, documentation, and governance frameworks.
