Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, coastal, environmental, or geotechnical engineering, or a related science.
  • 10+ years of directly relevant experience in a consulting environment (15+ years preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in business development and project management.
  • Experience overseeing mid-size to large-scale, multi-phase coastal engineering projects.
  • Expertise in technical and staff oversight for field studies, hydraulic/hydrodynamic modeling, and engineering analysis.
  • Expertise in construction document preparation and construction oversight.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet strict deadlines.
  • Advanced degree in a related field (preferred).
  • Professional licensure such as P.E. or P.G. (desirable).
  • Experience with environmental restoration, dredging, and disposal/diversion projects (preferred).
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Grow coastal practice through client relationships, business development, and market growth initiatives.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and meet project profitability goals.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to coastal engineering managers and staff.
  • Perform task and project management for coastal engineering investigations, planning, and design.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of coastal engineering work in marine-related projects.
  • Mentor junior staff and manage subcontractors.
  • Develop work plans, evaluate data, and write reports.
  • Review and manage document production.
  • Participate in meetings with clients and regulatory personnel.
  • Travel to client, company, or project sites as needed.
