Requirements
- 10+ years of professional engineering experience with freshwater restoration design.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Current professional licensed engineer (PE) license (Florida license or ability to obtain within 6 months).
- Experience in design plans for water control structures and freshwater restoration projects.
- Proficiency in technical specifications, cost estimation, and construction bid packages.
- Experienced in field inspections of water control systems.
- Strong skills in Microsoft tools and design/mapping software (AutoCAD, ArcGIS).
- Experience with stormwater hydrology and hydraulic modeling (e.g., SWMM, HEC-RAS, ICPR).
- Ability to work independently and manage multidisciplinary teams.
- Valid driver's license with a clean DMV record.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and traverse uneven terrain for fieldwork.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and assist with freshwater resources analyses, reports, designs, and permit applications.
- Manage topographic, geologic, and natural resource field data collection.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance restoration projects from concept to implementation.
- Provide mentorship, work review, and career guidance to junior staff.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
- Lead client meetings, agency presentations, and proposal development.
