Requirements
- 10 or more years of commercial lines underwriting or brokerage experience.
- Associate's degree required (Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Agriculture, Business, or related field preferred).
- Active insurance license required.
- Professional designation such as CPCU or CIC required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, especially Word and Excel.
- Experience with multiple carrier quoting systems.
- Experience with management systems, specifically Vertafore (AIM; ImageRight), is highly desired.
- Experience with Surplus lines is highly desired.
Responsibilities
- Serve as brokerage leader and subject matter expert regarding brokerage services.
- Assist Brokerage Manager with development of brokerage office including processes and practices.
- Analyze submissions from retail agents to determine the best available carrier and coverages.
- Rate, quote, and bind submitted accounts with carriers, determining acceptability and pricing.
- Facilitate underwriting processes on behalf of carriers, partners, and agencies.
- Manage relationships between agency, carrier partners, and ABS, serving as lead client contact.
- Build, maintain, and grow a book of business related to brokered products.
- Provide ongoing service and support to agencies and insureds to maintain portfolio of accounts.
- Develop and maintain deep expertise in insurance solutions for specific product lines and industry segments.
