Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and scaling production backend services.
- Strong proficiency in Python and Django, including REST API development.
- Expertise in PostgreSQL data modeling, query optimization, and indexing at scale.
- Experience with asynchronous systems, distributed messaging, and background task queues (e.g., Celery).
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), and major cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
- Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and GitOps practices (e.g., GitLab CI, ArgoCD).
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects end-to-end and mentor other engineers.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Comfortable with observability tools for debugging live production incidents.
- Interest in working in a remote, multicultural environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend systems for matching, bidding, and pro-scoring engines.
- Manage complex financial data flows including payments, subscriptions, and VAT integrations.
- Maintain system performance and reliability within a zero-downtime, Kubernetes-based infrastructure.
- Own features end-to-end, from design and coding to monitoring and production debugging.
- Collaborate within a cross-functional team including frontend, mobile, QA, and product managers.
- Refactor code and set technical direction through high-bar code reviews and mentorship.
