Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience within absence, disability claims, or comparable complex operational environments.
- Deep knowledge of Short-Term Disability (STD), FMLA, statutory leaves, company leaves, and ADA administration.
- Proven success leading operational teams in a complex, high-volume, customer-focused environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams through significant ongoing change.
- Experience using continuous improvement principles, data, and operational insights to improve performance.
- Strong people leadership skills including coaching, performance management, and team development.
- Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners.
- Ability to travel as needed for business activities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop an assigned Absence Claims operational team, including managers and claims professionals.
- Deliver operational excellence by meeting service, quality, productivity, and experience expectations.
- Champion a continuous improvement mindset and use structured problem-solving to optimize processes.
- Lead teams through business, regulatory, and technology changes to ensure successful adoption.
- Collaborate with matrix partners across Technology, Product, Legal, and Compliance to achieve objectives.
- Partner with stakeholders to implement automation and AI-enabled capabilities.
