Requirements
- Must be a current student in an accredited law degree program (1L, 2L, 3L, or LLM).
- Relevant background experience.
- Strong academic credentials.
- Strong legal research skills.
- Strong legal writing skills.
- Demonstrated interest in media, technology, and/or nonprofit fields through activities, clinics, or prior legal positions.
- Ability to comply with school requirements for academic credit.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during summer or part-time (15-20 hours/week) during Fall/Spring.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda, contracts, and other legal documents.
- Participate in client meetings, training, and legislative and regulatory meetings.
- Observe legal proceedings.
- Attend legal training sessions offered through the District of Columbia Bar Association or other local organizations.
