Requirements
- Must be a current 2L or 3L student in an accredited law degree program.
- Completed a course in copyright law (must state when and where taken in cover letter).
- Comprehensive knowledge of basic copyright principles.
- Well-versed in fair use analysis.
- Strong interest in copyright law, fair use, and audio licensing.
- Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for 12 weeks during the summer.
- Ability to obtain school credit for the externship or school-sponsored stipend.
- Experience with fair use law (preferred).
- Experience with intellectual property law (preferred).
- Prior experience with licensing issues (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Evaluate copyright issues in audio and video content.
- Research complex copyright legal issues.
- Make fair use determinations.
- Draft and organize permissions agreements.
- Assess legal aspects of proposed licensing agreements.
- Assist with Rights Management issues.
