Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as an Estimator at a senior level.
- Engineering background, ideally civil engineering or hands-on experience with civil/road horizontal works.
- Confident and independent ability to read and interpret civil/road design drawings and schedules.
- Advanced hands-on experience using Adobe for takeoff and markup of drawings.
- Advanced hands-on experience using Excel for recording quantities and building quotes.
- Clear, accurate written and spoken English proficiency.
- Ability to work independently, exercise judgment on pricing, and ask clarifying questions.
- Commitment to high attention to detail and accurate, methodical work.
- Access to a private home office and a computer (16GB RAM or more recommended).
- Availability to work full-time aligned with AEST business hours.
Responsibilities
- Review new customer enquiries and supplied plans or drawings.
- Verify supplied plans against job schedules to identify discrepancies before quoting.
- Perform accurate takeoffs from civil and road design drawings using Adobe.
- Calculate quantities and build quotes using company templates and pricing structures in Excel.
- Source and compare pricing from multiple suppliers and confirm outstanding quotes.
- Calculate margins and finalize costs for management review.
- Maintain high levels of accuracy and meet turnaround times with minimal supervision.
- Flag potential new client opportunities to management during regular communication.
