Requirements
- 7+ years of experience building production-grade data systems in business-critical environments.
- Demonstrated experience working with billions of data rows and large-scale data quality controls.
- Proven track record of building data-quality systems such as validation engines, anomaly detection, or scoring mechanisms.
- Experience designing evaluation or test harnesses used to measure system quality.
- Previous technical leadership experience including mentorship, code reviews, and pairing.
- Strong Python development skills and advanced SQL expertise.
- Practical experience operating LLMs as production systems, including prompt versioning, trace logging, and cost controls.
- Proven experience using agentic development environments such as Claude Code or Cursor.
- Ability to justify architectural decisions regarding deterministic rules versus LLM-based semantic evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build continuous data-quality systems, including verification, sampling, scoring, and reconciliation pipelines operating across billions of records.
- Design reusable frameworks and technical specifications for quality checks.
- Build evaluation harnesses for LLM-powered validation, including precision/recall measurement and judge calibration.
- Establish pre- and post-production release gates to prevent poor-quality data from reaching customers.
- Investigate large-scale data-quality incidents and implement permanent automated corrective solutions.
- Lead a team of 3–5 Applied AI Engineers through mentorship, code reviews, and technical direction.
- Maintain high technical standards while remaining 80% hands-on in engineering.
