Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in backup administration within large-scale or critical environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Commvault and NetBackup.
- Knowledge of high-availability, high-performance, and mission-critical infrastructure.
- Proficiency in backup and restore operations, performance tuning, and disaster recovery planning.
- Experience supporting on-premises, cloud, and hybrid infrastructures.
- Familiarity with AWS services such as RDS, EC2, and S3.
- Understanding of infrastructure architecture, OS, storage, and networking.
- Experience with backup migration from on-premises to cloud platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Desirable: Familiarity with SRE practices and Agile methodologies.
- Desirable: Proficiency in automation tools like Python, PowerShell, Bash, or .NET.
Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and continuously improve backup environments using Commvault and NetBackup.
- Ensure the availability, integrity, and performance of backup infrastructure across all environments.
- Perform regular restore tests and monthly validations to confirm recovery readiness.
- Execute predictive and corrective maintenance for backup services and infrastructure.
- Conduct backup-related audits and support compliance with frameworks like ISO 27001.
- Define and test strategies for contingency planning, disaster recovery, and high availability.
- Automate recurring operational tasks through scripting and infrastructure automation.
- Collaborate on cloud migration, modernization, and resilience initiatives, particularly with AWS.
