Requirements
- Sustained record of technical leadership across more than one team or product area.
- Deep backend architecture and production experience in complex applications or services.
- Experience modernizing a monolith or legacy backend architecture in production.
- Proficiency with modular architecture patterns like bounded contexts or service extraction.
- Proven ability to create alignment through clear written proposals and documentation.
- Strong product judgment balancing delivery speed, reliability, and technical health.
- Experience mentoring engineers through code review and documentation.
- Production experience with AI-assisted or agentic engineering workflows.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and delivery of large, cross-team backend initiatives.
- Drive modular backend, service, data, and platform architecture strategies.
- Define and improve standards for APIs, security, performance, observability, and operability.
- Establish shared patterns for dependency management, data ownership, and service maturity.
- Take part in on-call and incident response as a technical escalation point.
- Mentor senior and intermediate engineers to raise overall team technical capability.
- Lead the team-level adoption of AI-assisted and agentic engineering workflows.
