Requirements
- Professional experience building and shipping production backend applications.
- Strong fundamentals in programming, API design, databases, testing, debugging, and performance.
- Experience with Ruby/Rails, Go, or other modern backend languages.
- Ability to take features from clarification through delivery and follow-up.
- Experience with remote, asynchronous communication and collaboration.
- Practical experience with AI coding tools and validation of generated code.
- Sound instincts regarding security, reliability, maintainability, and operational risk.
- Understanding of modular backend boundaries and system coupling.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and ship backend features and improvements with minimal guidance.
- Write maintainable, secure, observable, and performant code.
- Design and maintain APIs, background jobs, and service functionality.
- Add and improve automated test coverage including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
- Review peer code for correctness, maintainability, and security.
- Investigate and resolve build, test, deployment, and runtime failures.
- Leverage AI tools in daily development workflows while validating output.
