Requirements
- Professional experience building and shipping production backend applications.
- Strong fundamentals in programming, API design, database operations, testing, and performance.
- Experience with Ruby/Rails, Go, or another modern backend language.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance in a remote, asynchronous environment.
- Practical judgment regarding security, reliability, maintainability, and operational risk.
- Demonstrated proficiency in clear written communication.
- Practical experience utilizing AI coding tools with the ability to validate generated output.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and ship backend features and improvements with minimal guidance.
- Build maintainable, secure, observable, and performant code including APIs and background jobs.
- Improve automated test coverage across unit, integration, and end-to-end suites.
- Review peer code for correctness, maintainability, security, and performance.
- Investigate build, test, and runtime failures while participating in on-call or operational support.
- Utilize AI tools in daily development workflows to drive efficiency and innovation.
