Requirements
- Professional experience building and shipping production backend applications.
- Strong programming, API, database, testing, debugging, and performance fundamentals.
- Experience with Ruby/Rails, Go, or other modern backend languages.
- Demonstrated ability to own features from clarification through delivery and follow-up.
- Practical judgment regarding security, reliability, and operational risk.
- Strong written communication skills for a remote, asynchronous environment.
- Experience with AI coding tools and ability to validate generated code.
- Ability to work independently while knowing when to seek help.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and ship backend features and improvements with minimal guidance using Ruby/Rails, Go, or other modern languages.
- Build maintainable, secure, observable, and performant code including APIs, background jobs, and data models.
- Improve automated test coverage and perform thorough code reviews for correctness and maintainability.
- Investigate build, test, and runtime failures and contribute to on-call or operational support.
- Incorporate AI tools into daily engineering workflows to drive efficiency and innovation.
