Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in technology environments with substantial hands-on software development using compiled languages like Rust, C, C++, or Go.
- Strong background in software systems engineering including databases, operating systems, networking, or infrastructure.
- Professional experience in R&D, advanced development, or exploratory technical environments.
- Experience taking software concepts from early prototypes through product-ready implementations.
- Experience with Rust or demonstrated ability to become proficient in it.
- Networking and network protocol development experience, ideally including secure or cybersecurity-focused development.
- Experience with edge computing, distributed systems, or resource-constrained environments.
- Experience with IoT technologies and integrating heterogeneous devices.
- Experience with embedded Linux (e.g., Yocto) or real-time operating systems.
- Familiarity with asynchronous programming and concurrent software development.
- Experience with containers, WebAssembly, or virtualization technologies.
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform, with Azure experience particularly relevant.
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and develop core components of next-generation edge computing, integration, and spatial intelligence platforms.
- Build an edge runtime and integration platform capable of combining data and capabilities from connected devices.
- Develop software models and knowledge structures to make device and home information usable across edge applications and intelligent systems.
- Take technical challenges from initial concept through rapid prototyping, experimentation, and production-quality delivery.
- Evaluate technologies and architectural approaches against requirements for scalability, reliability, performance, and security.
- Provide technical leadership through architecture guidance, design reviews, and the establishment of strong software engineering practices.
- Collaborate with engineers across software, IoT, mobile, and embedded disciplines to deliver integrated platform capabilities.
- Mentor engineers and foster a culture of experimentation, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
