  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with a criminal law firm in the United States.
  • Strong hands-on experience with U.S. criminal law matters (misdemeanor and felony).
  • Experience reviewing and organizing criminal discovery and evidence.
  • Experience drafting motions, subpoenas, notices, pleadings, and legal correspondence.
  • Experience preparing matters for hearings, plea negotiations, sentencing, and trials.
  • Strong understanding of criminal court procedures and filing deadlines.
  • Experience with legal case management software and electronic court filing systems.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 or comparable cloud-based business tools.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Proven employment stability, with at least two years of tenure in each prior role.

Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys with misdemeanor and felony criminal matters from intake through resolution or trial.
  • Draft motions, pleadings, notices, subpoenas, discovery requests, and legal correspondence.
  • Review and organize discovery, including police reports, body camera footage, surveillance footage, photographs, witness statements, and other evidence.
  • Prepare case chronologies, witness summaries, exhibit lists, and trial materials.
  • Assist with hearing, deposition, plea, sentencing, and trial preparation.
  • Communicate directly with clients, witnesses, family members, courts, prosecutors, experts, and other parties.
  • Track court dates, filing deadlines, discovery deadlines, and case milestones.
  • Prepare and submit court filings through applicable electronic filing systems.
