Requirements
- Seasoned Python engineering expertise with experience setting architectural patterns.
- Professional experience shipping meaningful LLM-backed or agentic features to real users.
- Fluency in observability practices, including telemetry, metrics, tracing, and alerting.
- Opinionated background in designing and maintaining internet-facing APIs.
- Demonstrated ability to debug complex production incidents and carry pager responsibility.
- Strong preference for builders who prioritize adoption over unnecessary abstraction.
- Familiarity with the tech stack: Flask, FastAPI, GraphQL, TaskTiger, Rust, TypeScript, Kafka, Redis, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience working directly with internal customers to iterate on developer tools.
- Proficiency with modern developer workflows, including coding agents and CI/CD pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Expand and optimize cloud development environments (DevDawg) and automated review tooling (Spice).
- Develop standardized 'paved roads' for the API layer, including REST, GraphQL, and OpenAPI integrations.
- Modernize backend framework layers, including migrations from Flask to FastAPI.
- Own production observability, including metrics, alerting, and Sentry integration.
- Ship shared backend services, eventing patterns, and database migration guardrails.
- Define constraints, static analysis, and linting rules for safe agent-written code execution.
- Partner with Infrastructure teams to align application-layer development with backend platform strategy.
