Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in a bankruptcy role within the banking, finance, or mortgage industry.
- 1+ year of experience in a senior or lead bankruptcy role or project management.
- Intermediate math skills for calculating Motions for Relief and Proof of Claim figures.
- Ability to audit and review complex bankruptcy documentation.
- Experience with bankruptcy filing processes such as Transfer of Claims, Reaffirmations, and Post-Petition Fee notices.
- Proficiency in identifying process gaps and recommending improvements.
- Strong communication skills for handling escalated borrower and attorney calls.
- Ability to conduct formal and informal training sessions.
- Comfort working with management and IT project coordination.
Responsibilities
- Monitor residential mortgage loans in bankruptcy to minimize losses and preserve lien-holder interests.
- Manage assigned team performance, workflows, and adherence to investor timelines.
- Provide training and create/update policies and procedures.
- Handle escalated inquiries from borrowers and attorneys regarding bankruptcy files.
- Collaborate with management and IT on bankruptcy process projects.
- Conduct audits and reviews of bankruptcy filings including Proof of Claims, Motions for Relief, and Reaffirmations.
- Analyze borrower payment histories and resolve posting discrepancies.
- Recommend solutions for litigated bankruptcy files and disputes.
