Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of relevant engineering/planning experience.
- Proven experience with Ciena 6500 DWDM systems.
- Experience in designing DWDM system plans.
- Proficiency with SQL.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Capability to handle moderately complex engineering assignments.
- Experience planning, designing, evaluating, and configuring network systems and protocol suites.
- Ability to work with limited direction and guidance.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed and complex solutioning for Wavelength and Ethernet customer orders.
- Trigger projects utilizing the most feasible, practical, and economical means.
- Conduct engineering work including design, modification, and evaluation of equipment and devices.
- Analyze complex Wavelength and Ethernet transport network systems and customer network environments.
- Resolve difficult interoperability problems across various platforms including email, file transfer, and teleconferencing.
- Configure systems according to specific user environments.
- Support the acquisition and implementation of hardware, software, and subcontractor services.
- Mentor or provide work leadership for lower-level employees.
