Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or LLB degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in Texas and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful insurance attorney experience, preferably within first party property damage or Texas Deceptive Practices Act.
  • Proven experience managing moderately complex litigation.
  • Exceptional legal research, writing, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in advanced e-discovery tools and legal case management software.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead junior attorneys and legal staff.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
  • Commitment to ethical legal practice and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage all phases of litigation involving claims of moderate to heavy value.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research, draft precise pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Lead settlement negotiations and participate in hearings, trials, and mediations.
  • Provide clear, well-reasoned legal opinions and strategic advice to clients and Claims Representatives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate legal risks associated with cases in collaboration with clients.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and legal support staff.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process automation and workflow enhancements.
