Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience, supported by a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong experience working with large datasets using Python and SQL.
- Experience with Go is an advantage.
- Solid knowledge of statistics, probability, data analysis, machine learning, and clustering techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to investigate complex technical problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
- Professional experience in areas such as bot detection, fraud prevention, account takeover, scraping detection, application security, or related security domains.
- Strong understanding of web and network technologies, including HTTP, TCP/IP, DNS, TLS/SSL, and web application architectures.
- Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting abilities, and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical findings clearly to both technical and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across data science, security, operations, customer-facing, and engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead investigations into complex false positives, false negatives, customer escalations, and other challenging security detection issues.
- Analyze large-scale traffic data, behavioral signals, request signatures, and security telemetry to identify suspicious patterns and detection gaps.
- Determine root causes and develop targeted improvements through rule tuning, threshold adjustments, and feature enhancements.
- Examine historical security cases to identify recurring issues, emerging attack techniques, and opportunities for improved detection.
- Develop and refine detection approaches for previously unmitigated, evolving, or sophisticated threats.
- Document investigation results, technical findings, and recommended actions through clear and actionable research tickets.
- Collaborate with professional services, security operations, account teams, and data science groups to resolve complex security challenges.
- Contribute insights from investigations to longer-term product strategy and security detection innovation.
