Requirements
- Approximately 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with ownership of production products.
- Strong full-stack capabilities in API/backend development and modern frontend development.
- Professional experience with Rails and TypeScript/React is preferred.
- Proven experience building, deploying, and maintaining production systems.
- Hands-on experience with LLM-powered functionality and the operational considerations of AI in production.
- Daily experience using AI coding tools or agentic development environments such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor.
- Strong product sense and ability to make independent UX and architectural decisions.
- Customer-centric mindset with a willingness to analyze user feedback and product data.
- Excellent written communication skills for an async-heavy remote environment.
- Strong judgment in balancing speed with quality and managing complex tasks.
- High autonomy and comfort working through ambiguity in a low-ceremony environment.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of customer problems end to end, from discovery and solution exploration to building, shipping, and validation.
- Work across the full product stack including Rails APIs, React/TypeScript interfaces, realtime experiences, and AI-powered functionality.
- Engage directly with customers through feedback, transcripts, and data to build a deep understanding of their needs.
- Rapidly prototype potential solutions and use evidence to guide development.
- Design and implement maintainable solutions, balancing customer needs with technical scalability.
- Build, deploy, monitor, and maintain production systems, taking accountability for performance and outcomes.
- Utilize AI agents throughout the development lifecycle for research, planning, prototyping, and testing.
- Evaluate AI-generated output critically and maintain high standards for code quality and reliability.
- Collaborate with founders, product, and design to influence product direction and innovation.
- Contribute to an engineering culture defined by automation, strong documentation, and high individual accountability.
