Requirements
- Demonstrated success leading FinOps or cloud cost-optimization initiatives with quantifiable savings.
- Proficiency in software development using Python and Ruby.
- Strong system administration experience, including Linux, networking, and bash scripting.
- Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Expertise in cloud tools and distributed systems such as Kubernetes, Kafka, Postgres, and Elasticsearch.
- Ability to design and implement scalable, resilient cloud infrastructure.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for distributed systems.
- Expertise in cloud data security.
- Strong communication skills for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Own cloud cost efficiency end-to-end by championing FinOps initiatives that drive cost visibility, accountability, and sustained reductions in unit cost.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to socialize the FinOps mindset across the engineering team.
- Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud-based infrastructure using Kubernetes, Pub/Sub, and related technologies.
- Collaborate with the AI team to optimize data pipelines and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Refactor existing systems to enhance scalability, transforming stateful components into stateless ones and applying autoscaling.
- Drive platform reliability initiatives including alerting, health checking, and incident management.
- Ensure the platform meets rigorous testing and security standards.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure SLA compliance.
