Requirements
- Four-year college degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 20 years of progressive experience leading data engineering and analytics teams in growth-oriented environments.
- 5 years of experience focused on enterprise data platforms, Lakehouse architectures, and cloud-native data engineering.
- Demonstrated history of managing and building large teams of 30+ people.
- Proven expertise in cloud data platform migration and modernization of legacy BI/warehouse systems.
- Experience in multi-cloud architecture environments and implementing automation in engineering workflows.
- Strong knowledge of secure data engineering practices and agile methodologies.
- Proficiency with open-source platforms including Databricks, AWS, Apache Spark, DBT, Airflow, SQL, and Python.
- Deep understanding of healthcare industry security and privacy regulations (HIPAA, HITECH, NIST).
- Experience managing budgets and vendor or contract relationships.
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategy, development, and execution of the enterprise data platform, including ingestion, storage, and transformation.
- Advance adoption of modern engineering practices like Lakehouse architectures, DataOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
- Oversee the modernization of legacy data warehouses and BI environments through cloud-first migrations.
- Design and scale data integration and pipeline frameworks to ensure reliability and resilience.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and analytics teams to build secure, future-ready data platforms.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, HITECH, and the NIST framework.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing, inclusive, and collaborative data engineering team.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on data investments, innovation, and risk mitigation.
