Requirements
- Extensive experience in large-scale backend architecture, specifically with high-volume systems like transactions, search/indexing, or billing.
- Proven history of company-wide technical leadership and driving multi-team initiatives involving cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to tie complex technical decisions to measurable business outcomes.
- Demonstrated autonomy in ambiguous environments, with the ability to map ecosystems and surface risks proactively.
- Experience as a technical multiplier, raising the performance of engineering groups through mentorship, documentation, or enablement.
- Proficiency in using AI tools to accelerate architectural design, prototyping, and communication.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with both technical and executive stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Map technical risks across core systems including transactions, search indexing, and billing to anticipate and solve scale challenges.
- Lead broad, high-stakes technical initiatives that span multiple teams and involve stakeholders in Legal, Risk, and Compliance.
- Identify strategic investment areas for the Foundations domain and translate them into actionable technical roadmaps.
- Raise the engineering bar by implementing mentorship and coaching programs and driving technical enablement across the organization.
- Connect business and customer requirements to concrete backend technical plans for communication to both engineers and executives.
