Requirements
- 5+ years of production-level Python engineering experience.
- Hands-on machine learning experience, specifically with supervised fine-tuning and post-training of models.
- Familiarity with the modern fine-tuning and serving toolchain, e.g., Unsloth, Fireworks, Baseten, or equivalents.
- Cloud experience with at least one major provider (GCP or AWS), including infrastructure-as-code with Terraform.
- Proven experience running ML-based products in production: deployment, monitoring, retraining, and iteration.
- Experience designing and operating data pipelines for training and evaluation.
- Demonstrated ownership and track record of driving ambiguous problems to resolution.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working in a small, distributed team.
- Preferred: Visible open-source footprint (libraries authored/maintained).
- Preferred: Experience with Go.
- Preferred: Deep understanding of Python concurrency and asyncio.
- Preferred: Experience with low-latency inference systems.
Responsibilities
- Own the development, fine-tuning, and evaluation of in-house AI models from dataset design through to production deployment.
- Run supervised fine-tuning and post-training experiments and establish benchmarks for model performance.
- Build and maintain data pipelines for model training, ensuring high data quality and reproducibility.
- Deploy models to production, optimizing for latency, cost, and reliability at high scale.
- Set technical direction and define the roadmap for AI initiatives.
- Collaborate across engineering teams to integrate models into Go-based APIs and infrastructure.
- Contribute to the open-source ecosystem and mentor the team through code reviews and best practices.
