Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- 5+ years of information security compliance, auditing, or assessment experience, or 7+ years in a related information security discipline.
- Active PCI DSS Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) certification.
- Professional credential such as CISSP, CISA, CMMC, or equivalent.
- Strong practical knowledge of PCI DSS, NIST, HIPAA, CMMC, and related regulatory frameworks.
- Solid technical foundation in networking, databases, operating systems, and IT infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience with critical thinking, root-cause analysis, and professional advisory work.
- Strong consulting and engagement-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong relationship-building and leadership skills.
- Comfortable working remotely while supporting U.S. business hours (Central or Eastern time preferred).
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple security, compliance, and advisory engagements simultaneously, managing scope, timelines, budgets, deliverables, documentation, and quality standards.
- Conduct PCI DSS compliance assessments, including SAQs, ROCs, and other applicable validation activities.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on PCI DSS, NIST, HIPAA, CMMC, and other security and regulatory frameworks.
- Evaluate client security programs, technical controls, and operational environments to identify risks and compliance gaps.
- Develop actionable remediation strategies that balance regulatory requirements, security best practices, and business priorities.
- Lead client interviews, workshops, and executive discussions to communicate findings effectively.
- Review and advise on security policies, procedures, and controls to support governance objectives.
- Provide technical direction, quality assurance, and mentorship to other consultants.
