Requirements
- Proven experience leading multiple software engineering teams or large organizations.
- Undergraduate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent career path.
- Professional software engineering experience with Golang, Python, Java, distributed systems, or system integrations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and manage competing priorities.
- Strong understanding of software engineering practices.
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on ownership and delivering meaningful outcomes.
- Excellent written and spoken English with strong presentation and communication skills.
- Strong people-management capabilities, including coaching, performance management, and talent development.
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally approximately twice per year for up to two weeks.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop multiple software engineering teams, supporting engineers from graduate through senior levels.
- Establish and promote effective engineering practices, development processes, and a culture of technical excellence.
- Drive product development roadmaps across commercial systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Provide technical leadership for services supporting billing, contracts, customer operations, and Linux security.
- Collaborate with the Commercial Systems leadership team and business stakeholders to shape priorities and strategy.
- Monitor team health and performance metrics to address organizational or delivery challenges.
- Set performance goals, provide coaching, and support the professional development of direct reports.
- Recruit and expand engineering teams by attracting and developing technical talent.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and product users to translate business needs into effective engineering solutions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, encouraging innovation and accountability.
