Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Active Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- At least 10 years of experience designing electrical systems and developing engineering calculations, analyses, drawings, and technical reports.
- Demonstrated experience applying electrical engineering principles to the design and qualification of structures, systems, and components.
- Experience developing procurement specifications and electrical sections of construction specifications.
- Previous experience working on nuclear design projects or within nuclear engineering environments.
- Experience participating in project meetings, field walkdowns, installations, and startup activities.
- Strong technical problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with the ability to address complex engineering challenges.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as an individual contributor while collaborating successfully within multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior engineering professionals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to understand project requirements, interfaces, responsibilities, and technical objectives.
- Prepare electrical design studies, engineering scopes, calculations, analyses, drawings, reports, and project estimates.
- Apply electrical engineering expertise to the design and qualification of structures, systems, and components, including complex nuclear and non-nuclear facilities.
- Develop electrical equipment procurement specifications, evaluate vendor bids, and support equipment selection in accordance with project requirements.
- Prepare and review electrical construction specifications and associated technical documentation.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve complex electrical engineering problems while ensuring designs meet applicable technical and project requirements.
- Participate in project meetings, technical coordination activities, site walkdowns, field installations, and startup activities as required.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders to ensure effective integration of electrical systems into broader facility designs.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, supporting their professional development and the quality of engineering deliverables.
