Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active board certification in primary care or an applicable specialty.
  • Active license to practice medicine in the State of Texas.
  • Maintain active DEA registration.
  • Minimum of five years of clinical experience with demonstrated leadership in a healthcare setting.
  • Prior supervisory experience of advanced practice providers.
  • Experience working with diverse and underserved communities.
  • Active BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • Must maintain professional liability insurance.
  • Basic computer skills including Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care for 80% of scheduled time.
  • Perform comprehensive patient examinations, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment plans.
  • Serve as the Supervising Physician for advanced practice providers, including performing monthly chart reviews and audits.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational leadership to implement strategy and improve clinical efficiency.
  • Oversee clinical quality improvement projects, compliance, and evidence-based practice implementation.
  • Mentor clinical staff, facilitate peer reviews, and participate in provider recruitment and performance evaluations.
  • Act as a point of contact for clinical emergencies and provide clinical consultation.
