Responsibilities
- Coordinate appointments with providers for patients, referring physicians, and facilities.
- Communicate key information including insurance coverage, financial responsibilities, and appointment details to patients and staff.
- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointment requests following practice protocols.
- Verify insurance benefits using eligibility systems, websites, or phone calls.
- Handle billing inquiries, collect out-of-pocket payments (deductibles, copays), and process payments accurately.
- Collaborate with billing teams to resolve insurance coverage issues.
- Maintain patient information and insurance panels.
- Escalate problems to management and meet assigned goals and objectives.
