Requirements

  • Proven experience defining and executing research and learning strategies.
  • Expertise in impact-focused research methods and impact evaluations.
  • Strong understanding of Theory of Change frameworks.
  • Experience managing research partnerships with external institutions.
  • Ability to establish and enforce data quality, ethics, and compliance standards.
  • Experience mentoring research staff and managing projects end-to-end.
  • High-level stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Ability to translate complex research into accessible insights for non-research stakeholders.
  • Expertise in humanitarian or emergency cash response research preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to represent an organization externally at a leadership level.

Responsibilities

  • Lead GD’s impact learning agenda for Emergency Cash programs.
  • Own the “canonical” Theory of Change for the emergency cash product.
  • Define and drive prioritization for impact-focused learning questions.
  • Represent RME at the leadership level in opportunity scoping and proposal design.
  • Set standards for data collection, quality checks, and analysis.
  • Establish management systems for data sharing, ethics, and human subjects protections.
  • Directly own and manage strategic research projects and partnerships.
  • Author research briefs and policy papers for the development community.
